Stacked Four Pad Hockey Arena
Slated for Toronto's Portlands
***CANCELLED***
The all-glass stacked hockey arena proposed on Toronto’s waterfront would cost an eye-popping $88 million to build because of technical and environmental requirements has been cancelled. What a shame,  this building would have been a unique addition to Toronto's skyline, with 4 (stacked) hockey arenas surrounded by glass- all with a view of the lake.

What upsets me the most...Toronto does not have that many unique buildings with interesting architecture...the city's historical legacy has burned to the ground several times...the few buildings that remain are being plowed over or burned by arsonists, without any consequences, to make way for cookie cutter glass condos.

We need to spend a little more and build some great buildings...with some great architecture.
City Hall needs to make sure that developers are adhering to set standards of quality, artistry and history, when building new projects.

It is apparent when I look around, at these new condo developments or revised hockey arena plans, that we are building cheap structures and there are no skilled artisans/stone masons tasked to add quality detailing to these buildings....MOSTLY EVERYTHING GOING UP THIS YEAR JUST LOOKS CHEAP.
