It's beginning to look like spring in Leslieville

The smells of spring aren't always so sweet in local parks, public spaces and along the water's edge when irresponsible dog owners don't clean up after their pets.

 

"It's a pretty regular thing because some people are irresponsible during the winter," said Ward 30 Councillor Paula Fletcher, adding once the snow melts, piles of leftover dog poop become a stinky mess. "Most pet owners pick up after their pets, but a small percentage (don't)."

The Toronto-Danforth representative said each spring, once the snow has stopped falling for the season, city crews clean the sidewalks of cigarette butts, garbage and dog feces.
